The Chesaning Area Historical Society now has account on Ancestry.com, the world’s largest geneology website. This gives us access to an enormous archive of public records, including census lists, marriage records, and birth and death records, greatly aiding in our ability to conduct research into the history of local families.
The longterm goal is to creat a comprehensive family tree that includes all of the early residents and pioneer families that first settled the Chesaning area. We can also take any records or photographs that we come across in our research, and add them to the family tree, making them accessible to anyone with an Ancestry account.
There is one drawback, however, in that Ancestry does require a subscription, but if you already have an active account with Ancestry, you can find us by searching for our username: ChesaningHistory.
If you’d like to help us in our effor to discover and preserve local history, you can donate online using the donation link on our website, or by going to donorbox.org/chesaninghistory.
